Day Rehabilitation Care is a customized therapy program which comprises physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy, group activities and caregiver training. It helps SLH’s discharged patients who require extended period of therapy to improve on their functional capability and delay deterioration.

Aims
SLH aims to help patients achieve maximum functional recovery through an extended period of therapy treatment. The objective is for them to be re-integrated back into the community after learning appropriate adaptive skills to cope with the physical impairments or functional deficits resulting from medical conditions such as stroke, Parkinsons’ disease or orthopaedic conditions.

Therapy program by physiotherapist and occupational therapist
Medical review for those who wish to be followed-up at the centre while attending the day rehabilitation program
Nursing procedures such as wound dressing, changing of Ryles’ tube
Medical Social Service for those needing assistance in financial, social and emotional aspects
Dental service

SLH launches new Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy
Doctors know that people can recover some lost function during the first month after a stroke. But conventional wisdom says there's little hope for improvement after that. However a novel rehabilitation therapy has been introduced at St Luke’s Hospital that can help the brain rewire itself long after a stroke. This therapy method causes the healthy part of the brain to take over for brain cells that have been damaged by a stroke.
