Administrative Employee Confirmed Covid Positive

We have been informed that an administrative employee has been confirmed as a positive COVID-19 case on 22 May 2021 (Sat). The employee had been identified as a household contact of a positive case in an existing cluster in the community.

The affected employee does not work in the wards or clinics, and has no direct contact with patients. The hospital is supporting the affected employee to render all necessary assistance.

The employee is fully vaccinated, and was swabbed on 11 May (Tue) as part of the hospital’s precautionary testing exercise mandated by the Ministry of Health. The swab result was negative. The employee has been working from home since 13 May (Thu).

Colleagues in the same office and those who have had possible contact with the employee within the hospital have since been swabbed and tested negative. The affected workspace, as well as common areas such as lifts and toilets, also underwent deep cleansing and disinfection on the same day.

The hospital has been taking precautions and following strict infection control measures according to MOH guidelines. Our business continuity plans are in place since early 2020, with split team operations and no cross deployment, to ensure minimal disruption to our normal operations.

We will continue our operations as usual, and will continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure the well-being of our employees, inpatients and outpatients.
