Heartiest congratulations to our 2022 winners of the Community Care Manpower Development Awards (CCMDA)! We are so proud of you!
For Assistant Nurse Brenda Ee, her 5-year journey of seeing patients getting well and going home has been nothing short of fulfilling. Soon, the 52-year-old will be taking up a Diploma of Nursing course to improve her skills, supported by the CCMDA.
From young, Brenda was inspired to be a nurse after witnessing the genuine care rendered to her father when he was hospitalised. In 2016, still holding firm to her dream, she underwent a mid-career Professional Conversion Programme by enrolling herself for a NITEC in Nursing course.
Since joining St Luke’s Hospital (SLH) in 2018, Brenda’s main roles lie in nursing care to assist patients in their daily activities and hygiene care. After her studies, she will return to SLH as a Staff Nurse where she looks forward to “take on higher responsibilities independently and providing more specialised areas of care, such as home care to those who are unable to leave their homes.”
A believer of life-long learning, Brenda hopes more people who have the heart and compassion in caring for those in need will join the sector. “Nursing has been a meaningful career for me. I am grateful to receive this award and would like to thank my mentors and colleagues at SLH for being so supportive,” said Brenda.
Brenda was one of 10 staff from SLH who received the CCMDA held on 5 September 2022. Administered by the Agency for Integrated Care – AIC Singapore, the awards provide new entrants, including students and mid-career switchers, and staff working in the sector with opportunities to develop professionally and grow their career in Community Care.
SLH is proud of all the awardees from the Nursing, Rehab, Pharmacy, Care & Integration and St Luke’s Academy departments.
