St Luke’s Hospital’s campus redevelopment looks ahead to the changing healthcare needs of Singapore’s ageing population. It will create a more connected and future-ready environment that supports integrated, multidisciplinary care across hospital, home and community settings.

The campus of tomorrow will expand our capacity to care for patients with increasingly complex needs, while creating spaces where people can recover, caregivers can find support, healthcare professionals can learn, and partners can come together to advance new models of care.

At the heart of this vision is a “campus without walls” — a community hospital that reaches beyond its physical boundaries, connecting care, people and capabilities to support healthier and more fulfilling lives.

The $50 million St Luke’s Hospital Campus Redevelopment Fund will help turn this vision into reality.

Expanding Care Capacity

Growing our capacity and capabilities to meet changing healthcare needs

Strengthening Palliative Care

A new inpatient hospice palliative care services (IHPCS) ward is planned at our Bukit Batok campus, bringing SLH’s palliative care capacity to more than 60 beds by early 2028.

SLH will also partner Alexandra Hospital to develop and operate up to 80 IHPCS beds at its new campus from 2030 onwards, extending our palliative care services to more patients and families.

Strengthening Healthcare Preparedness

Dedicated isolation facilities will strengthen infection prevention and control, while providing greater flexibility to respond to future infectious disease outbreaks and other public health emergencies.

Campus Without Walls

A more open and connected campus where care, partnerships and community activities extend beyond the hospital — strengthening SLH’s connection with the wider community.

Supporting Healthy Longevity

Community-facing spaces will encourage exercise, wellness and social connection, helping people stay healthier, active and independent for longer. They will also create more opportunities for the community to take an active role in maintaining their health and wellbeing.

Technology-Enabled Rehabilitation

A technology-enabled Rehabilitation Centre of Excellence will support more intensive and personalised rehabilitation, while developing new approaches that can benefit patients across the wider community.

Open and Welcoming Spaces

Welcoming spaces will support recovery, caregiver support, learning and collaboration among healthcare and community partners. They will create more opportunities for people to connect, exchange ideas and work together to improve care.

St Luke’s Hospital began in 1996 as Singapore’s first hospital dedicated to the care of older persons. Over the past three decades, our role has grown alongside the changing needs of the community.

Today, we support patients through a care ecosystem spanning inpatient, outpatient, home and community-based services, with specialised areas of care in rehabilitation, dementia, wound and palliative care.

The redevelopment builds on the foundations laid over the past 30 years, while preparing St Luke’s Hospital to serve future generations with the same commitment to compassionate, person-centred care.
