Gym Up offers a diverse range of programmes to support those within the pre-frail and robust frailty groups to enhance their daily function through fitness.
These programmes are meticulously tailored to meet individual functional goals and elevate their quality of life.
Gym-Up Programmes
GYMComm
Format: Supervised training programme
GYMComm provides customized, gamified machine-based training for all fitness levels. It aims to improve strength, walking gait, and balance, helping parents stay active and healthy.
Target Participants
For individuals who experience weakened muscles or stiff joints and are seeking a strength training programme that allows for gradual strength enhancement.
Eligibility
1. Wants to improve overall fitness level and functional ability in daily activities
2. Has a steady gait and ability to move between equipment
Training and Assessment
Recommended training frequency: Twice a week
1 programme cycle: 24 sessions
Pre- and Post-training assessment: 1st and 24th session
MOVE
Format: Group exercise with SLH Therapist
MOVE is a group fitness program for seniors that aims to reduce frailty through targeted strength, balance, and aerobic exercises. This dynamic training enhances functional movement skills essential for daily activities.
Target Participants
For individuals who have recently completed physiotherapy and are seeking to improve their fitness level and functional ability in daily activities.
Eligibility
1. Completed 1 GYM TONIC cycle or physiotherapy management
2. Wants to improve overall fitness level and functional ability in daily activities
3. Has a steady gait and ability to move between equipment
Training and Assessment
Recommended training frequency: Twice a week
1 programme cycle: 24 sessions
Pre- and Post-training assessment: 1st and 24th session
