Manager, Medical Social Work

Job Summary:

  • Lead the Medical Social Work Team
  • Assume administrative duties and responsibilities as head of the Department
  • Plan and implement policies, procedures to meet the needs of Patients and Caregivers
  • Work with other Department heads and Care and Integration team leads to ensure quality of patient service and care

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all services and programmes of MSW Department
  • Manage staff performance and ensure competence of team
  • Manage and plan the professional development needs and training needs of team
  • Represent MSW team at internal and external meetings
  • Provide supervision to junior Medical Social Workers
  • Review and revise work processes with internal stakeholders and external organizations to ensure quality of care and efficiency
  • Induct and orientate new staff
  • Convene Medifund Committee meetings and proceedings. Support Facility Medifund Committee and coordinate Medifund Scheme
  • Manage the utilisation of the Patient Welfare Fund.

Requirements:

  • Degree or postgraduate qualifications in Social Work
  • 10 years or more of Social Work experience, preferably in the healthcare setting
  • Experience as a Principal Medical Social Worker
  • Possess experience leading a team of Social Workers
