Neuro-Developmental Techniques (NDT) enhances the function of adults with difficulty controlling movement due to neurological challenges such as stroke and head injury. Join this course to gain fundamental knowledge of the philosophy and treatment principles of NDT.
Course objectives
- Describe the theory assumption and principles (motor control, motor learning and motor development) of NDT
- Link NDT practice model with the International Classification of Function (ICF) model
- Apply principles of posture and movement model in practice
- Perform practical skills to:
‐Analyse common task movement
‐Set the trunk right for activity
‐Implement facilitation techniques
- Demonstrate common NDT Interventions for a client after stroke
