St Luke’s Hospital’s #GoSilverSG Campaign Partners Local Artists To Celebrate Positive Ageing Through Art

‘Silver Hair’ Social Media Campaign Unveils the Beauty of Ageing through Intricate Stitches, Prints, Vibrant Watercolours, and Eco-friendly Jesmonite.

St Luke’s Hospital (SLH) is thrilled to announce the return of its signature ‘silver hair’ social media fundraising campaign, #GoSilverSG, from 1 – 30 June 2023. Now in its third year, this year’s campaign themed ‘Art Collective: An Ode to Silver’ aims to captivate audiences through a collaboration with five talented local artists to create exquisite works of art inspired by positive ageing.

Much like the process of ageing, art embodies a timeless essence that deepens and enriches over time. To amplify the campaign message to a wider audience, #GoSilverSG aims to celebrate positive ageing through unique interpretations and artistic creations by our partnering artists to ignite meaningful conversations and challenge negative stereotypes.

Each partnering artist brings a unique perspective and distinct style, resulting in a diverse range of artistic inspirations showcasing the breadth and depth of creative possibilities. These art pieces will be unveiled on their Instagram pages in the month of June.

Some highlights include Lee Kow Fong’s (@kowfong) whimsical watercolour illustrations, which paint an important message of how the well-being of seniors should be of utmost importance and how a listening ear should never be overlooked, and Joyce Orallo-Lim’s (@chokmah.sg) sustainable homewares that celebrate the beauty of life and ageing through the reassembled broken pieces into something new and whole. For all artist inspirations, refer to Annex.

Launched in 2021, #GoSilverSG is the first-ever ‘Silver Hair’ campaign in Singapore to inspire positive ageing and raise funds for patients at St Luke’s Hospital. Since its inception, #GoSilverSG has garnered over 60 thousand likes, comments and shares on social media. Mediacorp artists and KOLs including Ya Hui, Cynthia Koh, Aiken Chia and Fiona Fussi had shown their support and shared their silver hair selfies on their Instagram. All proceeds from the #GoSilverSG campaign will go towards supporting patients at SLH, ensuring they can recover, regain mobility independence and return home. Over the years, SLH has been dedicated to enriching lives in the communities, expanding its core offerings to include inpatient, outpatient, home care and community care programmes.
