Designed for nurses and healthcare professionals, this course builds on foundational skills to develop advanced competency in wound assessment, management, and holistic care. Participants will gain the confidence to provide evidence-based wound care aligned with organizational protocols and best practices. The course is accredited by the European Wound Management Association (EWMA).
Course objectives:
- Perform and define key terms related to performing wound assessment
- Differentiate and manage wounds (e.g., pressure injuries, venous, arterial, diabetic) based on clinical presentation.
- Describe the function and appropriate use of different wound dressings and stoma care products.
- Assess the effectiveness of wound care interventions and identify when escalation is required.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams to support optimal outcomes and client satisfaction.
