(w.e.f 1 April 2025)
Dr Andrew Samson is Medical Director of St Luke’s Hospital, a community healthcare provider committed to bridging gaps across the care continuum. He also serves as Deputy Chairman, Medical Board (Clinical Services), overseeing the integration and delivery of clinical services, and as Chief Medical Information Officer, driving the optimisation of IT systems to enhance care delivery.
Among the first graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine, Dr Andrew has been instrumental in developing the hospital’s palliative care services. He played a key role in establishing its dedicated inpatient palliative ward, strengthening end-of-life care for patients and families, and currently co-leads the development of the Primary Palliative Care Clinic (PPCC), advancing upstream integration of palliative care into primary care through a multidisciplinary model.
His work focuses on advancing integrated, patient-centred models that connect care across inpatient, outpatient, home and community settings, while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to better support patients with serious illness. Dr Andrew brings a systems-oriented perspective to service innovation, with a strong interest in improving continuity of care and shaping sustainable, community-based palliative care.
