Mervin Wong is a performer, violist, composer, and electronic producer. He is an artist who is deeply dedicated to the shared experience of sound. Raised in chambers of string, it took a moment for him to recognize the Viola as his truest limb. The tectonic shift to this deeper, enduring register has shaped his foray into electronic music-making. Mournful but raft of grief. Mervin Wong’s long-form sensibilities rouse our waterflesh. Singapore’s latest string ensemble, Bards of Neverland, is a vibrant and energetic quartet formed by Singapore’s new generation of classical musicians. All four members – David Loke, Cho Hang Oh, Martin Peh, and Yang Shuxiang – are alumni of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and have been mentored under Lionel Tan, a founding member of T’ang Quartet.
