Anyone who is 40 years or older may be admitted for medical care and rehabilitation, regardless of race, language or religion. We accept patients suffering from stroke, hip fracture, amputations and general de-conditioning post-surgical / medical conditions.
Patients unsuitable* for admission include those who:
Are medically unstable eg febrile patients, or those who require urgent investigations and treatment for unresolved problems like endoscopy, surgery, blood transfusion
Have unresolved social problems / discharge plan
Have drains, traction, or require heavy spinal nursing care
Require assisted ventilation
Require peritoneal dialysis
*Criteria for inpatient palliative care may differ from the above.
