MOH EatSafe SG initiative was launched in July 2022. It applies to all Community Care Services that provide meals to clients with swallowing difficulties and/or involved in the direct care for patients with Dysphagia. To support the initiative, SLH is conducting the EatSafe SG Basic Hands-on Workshop.
Pre-requisites:
Completed mandatory MOH EatSafe SG e-learning programme on AIC’s Community Care Learning Management System (CCLMS)
- MOH EatSafe SG e-learning programme (Full: Gum based)
- MOH EatSafe SG e-learning programme (Full: Starch-based)
- MOH EatSafe SG e-learning programme (Full: Gum & Starch-based)
- MOH EatSafe SG e-learning programme (Abridged)
*Only one of the above e-learning programmes needs to be attempted and passed, depending on the type of thickener(s) used in the institution.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Reinforce understanding of new diet texture and fluid labels and descriptors
- Perform diet texture and fluid tests to assess which IDDSI levels they fit into
- Demonstrate accurate preparation of fluid textures
- Understand strategies to adapt food to meet various IDDSI levels

- Doctors, Nurses, Kitchen Staff, Dieticians, Speech Therapists & Institution Champions

- CCSSF-T-CAS-2021-1 Assist therapist in performing client assessments (Basic II)
- CCSSF-T-CAS-4022-1 Assess and prepare report on client’s condition for therapist (Advanced)
- CCSSF-T-FOCACT-3023-1 Support therapists to reinforce client education and training to client and caregivers (Intermediate)
- CCSSF-T-FOCACT-4024-1 Educate client and caregiver about client conditions, and train them in relevant areas of client training to improve/maintain client conditions under guidance of therapist (Advanced)
